How It All Began...

God's Specific Call::

Red Rocks Church is five years old, however, the development and the vision of RRC began long before that.  In fact it was almost six years before the church began that God began calling leaders from various parts of the country to "Plant A Church In Denver."

Heritage Square::

Between the years 2003 and 2005, God began assembling a team of leaders and pastors who teamed up and began to pray weekly for a new church start up on the west side of Denver. During that season of prayer, Heritage Square in Golden, Colorado became available for the group to begin to assemble and gather in preparation for the January of 2005 launch.  Heritage Square seemed to be the least obvious place to start a church, since it was an old, run down amusement park seemingly out of the way of almost everything.  Little did we realize that Heritage Square would prove to be God's perfect location for Red Rocks Church to begin.

Opening Day::

The doors opened in January of 2005 with just over 100 people in attendance.  Over the next few years RRC would overcome many challenges as the church just kept on growing.  Services were added, leaders were put in place and soon we found ourselves breaking fire codes because of too many bodies in the building at the same time.  A move to a new, larger location was inevitable.

Belmar:: 

The Belmar Center in Lakewood had been our venue of choice for some of our larger events. After holding an Easter service in the Belmar Center in 2007, the idea of making this place our new home became a viable option.  

It's hard to believe Red Rocks Church has now grown to over 1200 people each weekend even reaching over 2000 on a Sunday.  We love the excitement, the crowds and the beautiful facilities that Belmar provides us, yet we all held a very dear place in our heart for those foundational years at our "Quirky Little Theme Park."

Back To Heritage Square? ::

Our Time At Belmar Was A Season Of Growth But...

The Perfect Place For The Perfect Time...

As Red Rocks Church continued to grow, it was obvious that changes had to be made.  We left Heritage Square in 2008 and made a new home at Belmar.  Little did we know that we would be heading right back less than a year later.  As 2009 came along, a larger building came available for the church to gather in addition to all of our old dearly loved space at Heritage Square.  As much as we grew to love Belmar, Heritage Square still felt like home.

We all thank God and give Him credit for all miracles and changed lives in this process.
