In this part of the Go Change the World section you will find resources and practices to commission you to Love your neighbor. Jesus invites us to love our neighbors as a part of the great commandment. God’s love is meant to flow through us, to our neighbor.

Practices

Daily

  • The second greatest commandment is to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Ask yourself, who is my neighbor, besides just the person I live next to. Today, pray this prayer in every new place you walk in. “Jesus, show me who my neighbor is in this place, and help me to love them like you love me.”

Weekly

  • Draw a tic-tac-toe grid, in the middle put your name. Now fill in the names around it with people you interact with on a frequent basis, neighbors, coworkers, parents of kids from school, family members, someone on your sports team, the homeless man you see on the side of the road everyday. Take time over the next few weeks to introduce yourself to them and ask about their story.

Monthly

  • Cross a social, political, religious, or ethnic barrier- Get to know someone who is different from you, visit a part of town that is unfamiliar, go to an international restaurant. Reflect on how God is changing your heart through these encounters.
