In this part of the Practices section, you will find resources and ways to engage in the specific practice of Scripture. The Word of God is living and active, it is not stagnant. Therefore, as we approach scripture we don’t use it like a history book or argument ender. Rather we read it with openness, and attentiveness, to how God is speaking through it. We don’t just read the word, but allow the Word to read and change our lives.
- Read a gospel story, imagine yourself in the text, what do you see, hear, smell, taste, and feel. Which character do you identify with most? Ask how God is speaking to you through this story.
- Write down a passage of Scripture that has been meaningful to you throughout the week.
- Pick four verses each month to memorize, start with Romans 12:2.
