In this part of the Rhythms section, you will find resources and practices to help you establish rhythms of work, rest, and re-creation. We are created in the image of our God who both works and rests. Discovering the balance of these rhythms and living in sync with our creator is key to our flourishing.

Practices

Daily

  • Go on a walk, a hike, or a bike ride. Go slowly and take time to recognize the presence of God around you.
  • Take an hour each day to break from technology, power down your phone or use it sparingly by staying off social media and streaming services.

Weekly

  • Intentionally mark out a time for Sabbath each week. Try to make this as close to a 24 hr. period as possible. Create your own pattern to start your sabbath like pouring a glass of wine, lighting a candle, reading a specific scripture verse, or something else that relates to you.

Monthly

  • Each month, come up with a list of ways you are able to find rest. Come up with a list of ways you are able to re-create. Try to fill your days of sabbath with things that bring you joy and rest.
