Support Groups

FIND A GROUP

There are specific events in life that are not meant to be navigated alone. We believe in the power and effectiveness of community and the Holy Spirit’s divine interaction wherever two or more are gathered. Our church often says we are a bunch of messed up people pursuing a perfect God. With this in mind, our Life Groups and Care ministries have come together to offer support groups.

These groups will be a blend of community and group life, with an emphasis on healing from an array of issues including sexual abuse, mental illness, abortion, and more. Let’s heal together, and find our hope pursuing Jesus Christ and His plans for our future. See below to learn more about each individual group currently being offered and to register. If the group you are looking for is closed, groups typically relaunch every fall and spring. Please email [email protected] for immediate resources or support.

Perhaps you know this truth well, are learning it, or haven’t ever thought something like this before, but take comfort in the fact the Jesus Christ is FOR us and is constantly finding ways to communicate his vast love towards us. He is a healer and redeems our stories, through tough times. Jesus is able to go back into our memories, heal them, and allows us to walk forward in love and peace. This group exists to impart hope, healing, and victory over the scars left behind from sexual abuse. **Registration currently closed – Please email to get connected to the leaders of this group, or to be put on a waiting list**

Various statistics reveal that 1 in 4 adults and 1 in 5 adolescents in a given year deal with a diagnosable mental illness. Red Rocks Church is offering a support group to help the families of those living with mental health difficulties and disorders through the mental health Grace Alliance and their Family Grace curriculum. In this group, you will learn practical skills and tools necessary to regain your life and rebuild your family. All of this is done in a Christ-centered environment with a clear focus on God’s grace for life transformation.

This support group is for spouses, parents and siblings/children over the age of 18 who have family members living with a mental illness. If you are looking for a group of other Christ-followers, passionate about Jesus and loving their families with mental illness well, this is a great group to join.

GRIEFSHARE

**Registration has reached capacity and will relaunch in the Fall – Please email if you wish to be put on a waiting list**

GriefShare is a grief recovery program based on the promises of healing and comfort offered in Scripture. The group sessions offer a safe place to process the deep hurt of loss and is open to anyone who has experienced the death of a family member, friend, or loved one. Rather than simply providing practical “how-tos” for processing loss, the GriefShare group uses God’s Word as its foundation. Through involving its participants in authentic, honest community, this group helps to equip those grieving so that they can avoid the isolation of “toughing it out,” postponing their grieving, or minimizing their pain in an effort to cope with their sorrow. GriefShare is a grief recovery group that specifically addresses people grieving the loss of a family member, friend, or loved one. Within life, one may experience other types of loss, which create feelings of grief. The loss of a job, a divorce, estrangement from a child, or leaving friends behind because of a move are a few different examples. The grief caused from these experiences is real; however, it is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare. For support on these types of hurts, check out our Recover Ministry.

Duration: 12 weeks
Location: Arvada Campus, Main Lobby (7100 Wadsworth Blvd. Arvada, 80003)

The Red Table: A Cooking Class for the Cancer Community

**Registration currently closed – Please email if you wish to be connected to the leaders or put on a waiting list**

The Red Table is a support group for anyone (patients, survivors, caregivers and their families) impacted by cancer. While cancer is often a journey that we feel is beyond our control, this group is focused on shining a light on the influences we DO have through this season: depending on the God that feeds and renews our soul, consuming nutritious foods that feed & renew our body, and surrounding ourselves with Godly community that will feed and renew our spirit.

This group will meet bi-monthly at a community kitchen with small kitchenettes for all participants to cook at. We will be learning and preparing simple, healthy meals (with easy-to-do cooking techniques) while gathering together with others fighting a similar battle against cancer. The meetings will end sharing our freshly made meal together! The registration payment of $50 will cover all six meals and sign ups are on an individual basis.

Dates: Tuesdays, beginning March 5th
Time: 6:00-8:00pm
Cost: $50
Duration: Bi-weekly; 6 weeks total
Childcare: Not Available
