What story will you tell?

We all tell a story in our lives. The question is, what type of story do you want to tell? A year from now, will you tell a story about how you almost got serious about knowing God, almost started living on purpose, and almost changed the world? Or will this be the year you get serious and specific about the good plans God has for you? What story will you tell?

Overview

The best way to let God work in your life this year, is to commit the first month of the year to him. And so, starting January 8, in addition to the series, we are going to be doing 21 days of prayer and fasting.

Now, I know I just lost some of you. The first time I heard that, I thought, there’s no way I’m doing that.

For today, I just want you to consider joining us for this journey starting January 8.

Because I’m telling you church, 21 days of prayer and fasting will change your life.

Pick a Fast

Option 1: The Complete Food Fast
In this fast, you drink only liquids. Drink a lot of water, and then add in juice and shakes as needed. This one is intense. I wouldn’t recommend this fast unless you’ve had lots of practice. It’s something to work up to.

Option 2: The Partial Food Fast
This is where you abstain from eating any type of food for a certain period of time each day. For example, you can choose to skip a certain meal or abstain from eating until 5pm each day.

Option 3: The Selective Food Fast
This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water, juice, fruits, and vegetables.

Option 4: Soul Fast
If you don’t have much experience fasting food, have health (or other) issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance, this is a great option for you. For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast and then carefully bring that element back into your life in healthy doses at the conclusion of the fast.

Four options. Our challenge for you is to choose one and be all in!
