Prayer & Scripture
Scripture holds a mirror up to humanity, showing us who we are in Christ and how God is redeeming the story and making it beautiful. Prayer is how we bring the story to life and how God brings his kingdom to earth as it is in Heaven.

Family
God is a God of generations. He refers to himself throughout the Old Testament as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In Deuteronomy, he commands mothers and fathers to teach the ways of God to their children and for children to honor their father and mother. The Church also is a family. Family is the greatest blessing we can experience but it can also be one of the most difficult. God has given great instruction on how to have a strong, thriving family that abounds with blessing through our diversity.

Practices
One of the aims of christian living is to become like Jesus in character and in deed. That is a high calling and can seem impossible. But everything Jesus asked us to do is possible if we practice. Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, “everyone who hears these words of mine and practices them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Paul also wrote we should “train ourselves for godliness.” So we practice and we train, with Jesus, and in community, beginning where we are and, by His grace, becoming more like Jesus day by day.

Go Change the World
Changing the world seems like a daunting task. It’s too big and others can do it. But what if the most effective way to change the world was to make dinner? Throughout the Gospels, Jesus goes to dinner over and over again with anyone who will invite him. It was during those dinners that many people got to see what Jesus was like. The same is true for us: around the dinner table, our neighbors get to see what Jesus is really like.
